INTRODUCTION: ADULT CONTENT WARNING. I own a book called The Encyclopedia Of Things That Never Were, which has entries treating fantastic animals as if they are real. I loved making up my own entries for this and my Manitou Island characters were prime examples. As can be imagined, my character Ocryx had some choice things to be said about him. This is one example of a partial Ocryx entry; I remember there being a fuller entry somewhere but it's lost at the moment. This was written in small faint print on a folded piece of paper, indicating that I meant no one to see it and was embarrassed to look at it myself. Notice the changes that have taken place in the storyline since this was written--Silver Eagle Feather's mother's name is Leaves Falling (the name Black Crow was transferred to Red Bird's mother, then changed to Lost Crow), X'aaru (as he's now called) paired up with fellow demon Khiieta and NOT with White Deer, and Ocryx has NOT been known to kill women. Even more interesting is the detail that later on did come true in the stories--the tale of the demon born of Ocryx and Ocryana...who evolved into Tal Natha of the current storyline.
Likely from junior high or high school (1989-95).
His lovemaking is said to be so violent sometimes that mortal maiden and experienced woman alike could be killed in the process. He's stronger than 15 men and has had just about as many escapades with women. In some cases he's said to be the father of the medicine woman Silver Eagle Feather by Black Crow. In any case, he was most definitely the father of X, Silver Eagle Feather's son, raised Old Mother Manitou and Silver Eagle Feather's husband, Black Elk Horn. [Note--that should be "raised by." X'aaru was solely raised by Old Mother Manitou.] Black Elk Horn treated X as if he were his own son, and in time X married the shaman Stick-in-the-Dirt's daughter, White Deer. Ocryx also sired Red Bird when Ocryana caused a mortal woman to fall in love with him. [Note--Ocryana had nothing to do with Red Bird's birth.] In one little-known story it is said that, on accident, he fathered a demon by his archenemy, Ocryana.
