If You Were A Freemason... Front

INTRODUCTION: The complete existing text of If You Were A Freemason... This story was, I believe, meant to be a sequel to The Great Shriner Caper, or perhaps merely a sort of tie-in story. I don't recall the plot well, just that it involved my Freemason characters more than the Shriners, in particular a couple of Masons named Jenson and Latzy. (Remember Latzy's name from Caper? That Latzy.) Latzy was Chernobyl Cat's Worshipful Master, whereas Jenson was a Grand Master or whatever they call 'em...cripes, my memory is bad. If there was more, it'll come to me when I type this up. I didn't get very far through it, thankfully. Let me clue you in to a detail I DO remember. The character Jenson was meant to have had a wife and at least one kid in the past, but then both were murdered in some sort of apparent...anti-Masonic...plot...or something...I dunno...after which Jenson temporarily lost it. That was the big bit of drama. Well, I've since abandoned my Freemason-themed writing, and have practically forgotten poor Jenson, but...take a peep sometime at the existing text of The Scorpio Murders...and read Mulroy's story about Trooper Broderick in Chapter 5. Sound familiar? I had completely forgotten about Jenson when I came up with that...but it looks like I ripped myself off!

This story is written on loose sheets of lined paper stuck in a manila folder. No date is given, but I'm guessing it's from high school (1991-95); though college (1995-97) is a vague possibility.

Front, Chapter 1

If You Were a Freemason
[Note--at some later date, whenever writing the title I would add an ellipsis after the last word, and that's how I title it now.]

By Rachel L. H. [last name omitted]

Dedicated to all those who--aw, forget it!
[Note--poking at my earlier cheesy tendency to dedicate such books to the people who inspired them--in this case, Freemasons. See The Great Shriner Caper for an example.]
