Ocryx Genetics

AUTHOR'S NOTE: I FINALLY figured out the proper math to work out Ocryx genetics--what percentage different Ocryx offspring in my Manitou Island stories will be. This is relatively recent. I thought it might be informative, though it's a bit spoilery. Presented in rough form.

full ocryx + full ocryx = full ocryx (ocryx + ocryana = tal natha)

full ocryx + 3/4 ocryx = 7/8 ocryx

full ocryx + 1/2 ocryx = 3/4 ocryx (ocryx + shadow water = khiieta, ocryx + silver eagle feather = x'aaru, tal natha + red bird = dakh & sikt natha)

full ocryx + 1/4 ocryx = 5/8 ocryx

full ocryx + non-ocryx = 1/2 ocryx (ocryx + leaves falling = silver eagle feather, ocryx + justine dupries = justin dupries, ocryx + lost crow = red bird, ocryana + moon wolf = shadow water)

3/4 ocryx + 3/4 ocryx = 3/4 ocryx (x'aaru + khiieta = tiiku)

3/4 ocryx + 1/2 ocryx = 5/8 ocryx

3/4 ocryx + 1/4 ocryx = 1/2 ocryx

3/4 ocryx + non-ocryx = 3/8 ocryx (tiiku + sky feather = unnamed children)

1/2 ocryx + 1/2 ocryx = 1/2 ocryx (justin dupries + shadow water = no known children)

1/2 ocryx + 1/4 ocryx = 3/8 ocryx

1/2 ocryx + non-ocryx = 1/4 ocryx (silver eagle feather + black elk horn = winter born, justin dupries + little dove = page & fleur dupries)

1/4 ocryx + 1/4 ocryx = 1/4 ocryx

1/4 ocryx + non-ocryx = 1/8 ocryx (winter born + remy lacroix = unnamed children)

anything of 1/2 ocryx blood will resemble the non-ocryx parent but can easily shapeshift into ocryx form

anything of less than 1/2 ocryx blood will resemble the non-ocryx parent

anything over 1/2 ocryx blood will resemble the ocryx parent
